N998:  Ivory 'Seated Man' Netsuke

This is an amazing ivory netsuke of a man seated on a bamboo bench.  Note the amount of ivory the artist needed to remove to leave the bench and man.  He has amazing detail to his face, hands, and feet.  A very unusual himotoshi running up through the bench and out his back.  I see the man using an outside plumbing fixture, but that is just me.  He sits 1 1/4" tall and is signed by the artist.
