S357: Group of Four
Cinnabar like Snuff Bottles
This fine group example of the cinnabar snuffs.
Cinnabar is tree sap that is layered over and over and then carved.
True cinnabar is extremely rare, so I am going to assume these are reproductions
difficult to tell the repros from authentic). However, they are the
nicest I have seen (and I have seen many). The four shapes are a
great example. Of course, there is the brass bottom with chops.
They stand approx 2 5/8".
$200 for the group |
